August 5, 2023, the nineteenth day of the sixth lunar month, is the day when Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva became enlightened. On this auspicious day, Master Shi Xing Wu of Xing Wu Zen Temple in Canada led disciples and volunteers to donate a batch of safe and healthy food to the Richmond Food Bank of Canada expressing concern for the poor in need, Contribute a force of love.
What are food banks?
A food bank is an organization that provides food to those in need. Depending on their needs, they may be set up as warehouses or retail outlets. Volunteers donate resources, especially food, to those in need, often in the form of vouchers or coupons. Some food banks are even mobile, allowing them to reach those most in need.
People with low incomes get the most assistance because they need it the most. Once a family has paid their rent and utilities, they may not be able to pay for food. People are sometimes forced to choose between buying food and buying other needs.
Richmond Food Bank gives Richmond families in need access to healthy food, no matter what the reason.

Introduction to Xing Wu Zen Temple Society of Canada Xing Wu Zen Temple Society of Canada, established on February 10, 2022, is a charitable organization officially approved by the Canadian federal government.

On the 19th day of the sixth lunar month, we welcome the Enlightenment Day of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva. Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is one of the four great Bodhisattvas of Chinese Buddhism.
August 05, 2023 (June 19th in the lunar calendar) welcomes the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s Enlightenment Day. On this auspicious day, may we uphold the teachings of the Buddha, carry forward the compassionate spirit of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, and take the heart of Avalokitesvara as our heart. Take the matter of Guanyin as a matter, always cherish the compassionate heart of the Bodhisattva, do good deeds widely, and always follow the Bodhisattva way.
